Wildlife
With a rich diversity of wildlife in Lewa, the game drives are truly an unrivalled experience. Over 70 species of mammal are found within the conservancy, including lion, leopard, rhino and elephant, buffalo, hyena and antelope. The morning and afternoon game drives offer the opportunity to observe these in the day, whilst evening game drives open another world within the conservancy, of predators and interesting nocturnal creatures.
Conservation Work
Leading the world in conservation, the number of black rhinos in Lewa has grown from 15 at its establishment to well over 150 - an incredible achievement thanks to the important work here. As well as phenomenal wildlife encounters, you can directly contribute to the conservation and support the local communities, with a wealth of ‘behind the scenes’ activities that include tracking dog demonstrations, local school visits and visiting the Samburu community. A visit to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy supports the important work it does, all while offering an unforgettable luxury safari experience.
